SKRINING TAJAM PENGLIHATAN DAN KOREKSI PADA ANAK DI LEBAK SILIWANGI KECAMATAN COBLONG KOTA BANDUNG
Abstract
Refractive disorders are still one of the most common visual impairments in society, including in children and the elderly. This community service activity aims to conduct visual acuity screening and refraction examinations to detect early visual impairments and provide appropriate corrections. The activity was carried out at Bale Riung RW 008, Jalan Taman Hewan, Lebak Siliwangi Village, Coblong District, Bandung City, West Java Province. A total of 73 clients participated in this activity. The methods used included anamnesis, visual acuity examination, subjective and objective refraction examinations, and evaluation of ocular conditions to identify possible organic abnormalities. The results of the examination showed that myopia refractive disorders were found in 11.64% of clients, hypermetropia in 6.16%, and astigmatism in 4.11%. Meanwhile, presbyopia cases dominated with a prevalence of 93.15% (68 people), indicating a high need for vision correction in the elderly population. In addition, there was one case (0.69%) with suspected organic disorder that needed to be referred for further evaluation. This finding shows that screening activities are very important to be carried out periodically to detect visual impairment early and improve the quality of life of the community through appropriate interventions. This program is expected to be a collaborative model between educational institutions, professionals, and the community in promotive and preventive efforts in the field of eye health.
